An ongoing lecture series that explores the causes of and possible solutions for one aspect of the current divisions in American political culture. Committed to inquiry not advocacy, the Charlemont Forum engages humanities scholars from various fields, including religious studies, American history, literature, and media studies to bring information and discussion on important topics.
Former speakers include:
David Gergen - A senior political analyst for CNN and Professor of Public Service and Director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. He served as an advisor to four U.S. Presidents: Nixon, Ford, Reagan and Clinton.
John Bonifaz - A constitutional lawyer and co-founder and Executive Director of Free Speech for People. Mr. Bonifaz is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, and a recipient of a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship.
The lectures are free, and open to the public. They are followed by an audience dialogue with the speakers, and refreshments.
Directions are available. Parking is free and the church is handicapped accessible.
