Public Information Hearing West Hawley Road Bridge

What is happening?
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed West Hawley Road Bridge project (also refered to as the Long Bridge). All views and comments made at the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
How will this affect you?
The project will create some slight disruption to traffic since the bridge will only be open to southbound traffic during the duration of construction. Northbound traffic will be detoured via Tower Road.
The duration of construction is not known at this time. However, from past experience, a rough estimate can be made that the construction will last 5 years.
The goal is to improve the travel way: the new bridge will have an eastern sidewalk; the travel way will consist of two 5' bike lanes, two 2' buffers, and two 10' travel lanes. The pedestrian and bicycle accommodations will be in accordance with the most current applicable design guides.
